But goodbye we must say, to a staple that has been part of the Habibi Bath & Body family since its inception. In fact, if we’re being honest, it’s the first product that we really perfected.
Here’s why: we’ve evolved. We found a better way to heal oily and acne prone skin, without relying on essential peppermint and essential lavender. While these ingredients have served us well both personally and professionally, the more we learn about how and why we use these beautiful and potent ingredients, the more we worked to evolve the formula. Despite the soothing effects of oats, it has become increasingly challenging to find oats that are organic and certified non-GMO for manufacturing purposes. Add to that the potential irritating side effects of peppermint and even lavender, and it was just time to find a better way.
So we’re replacing Oatmeal & Peppermint with Matcha & Mint
We’ve long been fans of both Matcha and Spearmint as teas, and have slowly been incorporating them into skincare. It was only when we finally learned how to combine the two with the host of already amazing ingredients like fermented Aloe, German Chamomile, and Kigelia Africana to soothe skin and target the inflammation associated with acne. They are also antiseptic, and Matcha particularly helps control sebum production without compromising the skin and leaving it dehydrated. While we’re still using Oats extract, it will be in lower doses (which makes it easier to source and process from trusted suppliers) as a complement to Matcha, instead of the primary component.
We’ve been testing the new blend on all manner of reactive skin types, with marvelous results! So now you’ll see the ‘MATCHA & MINT’ option in the Organic Essentials line for face care. It’s currently up as an additional choice. As we approach the end of the year, Oatmeal and Peppermint will be completely phased out.
If you’re massive fans of Oatmeal & Peppermint, don’t despair! You still have a chance to stock up. But we’re also hoping that you give Matcha & Mint a chance, and see what it can do to help you heal, nourish, and improve the condition of your skin.
