Oh Matcha…

How we love thee!

We’ve been counting the ways for years by drinking matcha tea, and recently finding the most effective way to incorporate it into skincare. This fragrant tea leaf has so many benefits for all skin types, but is especially effective on oily and acne prone skin.

Matcha is pulverized green tea, made from the entire leaf. It contains chlorophyll, which is a powerful detoxifier. It can also fight free radicals that damage cells needed to protect our skin. That makes it a powerful pro-aging ally, to combat environmental and emotional stressors. Matcha is particularly good for acne because it has the ability to decrease sebum production. This high quality tea can do all of that whether you drink it, or apply it directly to your skin. If you know anything about us by now, you know we’re huge fans of doing both.

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been working on a matcha recipe that truly lives up to Habibi standards. That’s the good news. The bad news is that once it’s released, it will replace a skin care staple that’s been part of the Habibi roster since day one. If the only constant is change, we are of the mindset that said change should be a step in a more effective direction.

We look forward to sharing more of the new Matcha lineup in the coming season!
